Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forums and a noobie to the whole wood stove thing. I believe our stove is a Sierra 7000 and its been used. We want to get a new stove but with the chimney setup don't think we can unless we redo the whole thing. Anyway I took the pipes apart going to the chimney too clean and cleaned the inside the best i could, was having burn issues like the fire not getting hot enough unless I open the bottom damper. We have a temperature gauge but it didn't read on the pipe very well,so used it on the top of the stove. Our ash pan has a gasket around it and not sure if that's right,It was there when we got the house. Seems to burn a lot of wood just to get it hot enough. The chimney is above the roof line and I cleaned it 2 times this year. [Hearth.com] Sierra 7000...I think![Hearth.com] Sierra 7000...I think![Hearth.com] Sierra 7000...I think! Any suggestions on what we can do? Also the gasket around the ash pan? We plan on getting a new stove and setting this one up in the garage. If we do then we will redo the hook up since all stoves are from the top now,at least the ones we looked at.Have no choice but to keep using this the way it is,I'll poke around on some more info on what we should do in the mean time.:)
