Saw this on the side of the road, I thought oak but when I got to there it was obviously not. It cut and split easy. It has some leaves starting from the attached branch. f03aeb9366d48b4a62f6c53be9fb6cdc.jpgddfe26ccc93a99b7af869dd8699a60ba.jpg12196bf5d5be14e0f2c98b28312c2c3c.jpg

I think you got it Lakeside. The power Company cut it at the end of my street. Like I said it split pretty easily. I have split American Elm and it was tough.

I think it is Red Elm, or maybe Mulberry.

Thanks everyone. I'm going with red elm. There's a few more rounds I will go back and get. It will go on the two year pile.

I have had lots of mulberry splits put out leaves while they were in the wood pile.

I had pin oak put out leaves.
