Wondering what you all would figure the temperature inside of my smoke chamber of chimney is when running my insert. My chimney is about 16 feet tall. Running the jotul 550 into an insulated SS liner with no terra-cotta liner. Fire resistant insulation stuffed in damper area. Top plate up top. My chimney runs between my living room and garage and when I put IR thermometer to chimney block in garage the warmest area is a little over 100 degrees, which corresponds to whereabouts the top of smoke chamber is. Curious what temps internal to this area would be.
