Hi All:
This is my 3rd season with a Drolet 1400i. It is connected to a 6" liner which I cleaned a couple of weeks ago with a brush. When I cleaned it, I removed the top firebrick and the ash/cresote dropped into the firebox. The insulation blanket was pretty bad so I replaced it with 2300 degree 1" kaowool (12"w x 24"l). It was a royal pita to put the top brick back in place with the blanket in place. There is a metal framed octagon above the firebrick which is covered with the insulation. I fired it up tonight and the smoke comes into the house & will not stop. The blower came on & the smoke goes up the chimney with the door closed but the unit will not heat up like it has int he past. If I open the door, the smoke pours in. I have doors and windows opened and the cold air return on the furnace on to clear the smoke. I have had smoke in the past, but it always cleared after it warmed up. Good news is that all my smoke detectors work.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Jim
