Hey all. I've been through a few Hearthstone stoves over the years, and the family has used them from warming hands, warming dinner, drying gloves, etc. I have a brand new Heritage I just installed and have reservations of putting my beloved heat fan and even the thermometers on the top deck for fear of scratching it. It's absolutely beautiful! The pots, pans, fan all left scratches in the soap stone, which I'm hoping to prevent. I've read about silicone mats? They handle the heat? Just wondering if someone has this figured out. Pics below, removed Phoenix with scratched top, new Heritage I don't want scratched top.
Appreciate the input.

Safe to 400 maybe 450 for food. Just don’t put anything on it. That’s my solution

Not much you can do with the Hearthstones since they polish their stones. Just be careful and use a trivet. With the Woodstocks you can use steel wool to remove scratches.
