Is it me or does the fingers of the soot eaters weed whacker filament ?
I had cut the fingers to the desired length originally .. not working so well ..
Hmmm this looks like weed whacker filament .. I cut some a little longer ( not as stiff ) ...
This is working better.. who knew ..;)

That depends how much you use it. We replace ours weekly during the busy season. Well the long one for 12x12s gets downgraded and we put new line on the short one to take its place.
 
Does the soot eater work good on a square clay lined chimney?
 
When I bought mine I just cut the lines in half (6" round flue), so I can use the other half when I wear this one out. Weed whacker line is a great idea for the future, though.
