I am in upstate NY and was looking at a St. Croix SCF-050 for some additional heat in the basement of my house. I have been heating my house almost entirely with a Harman 43 (on first floor) for about 3 years now. Figured having heat on both ends of the house would even things out.

Can you tell me what your experiences has been with the SCF-050?
Quality of the unit?
Is it possible to hook this up to a thermostat to control temp?

A local dealer is asking $2000 for one. Is this a reasonable price for the unit NIB?

Thanks!
