Today I found a young standing dead shagbark hickory tree on my property. I cut it down and split it. MM at 18%! Sent it straight to the stove room.

Lucky, I had a pignut hickory that got struck by lightning. It was below 20% right off the bat. That was my lucky day. Lightning is a good way to season wood I guess.
