Stove cleaner doesn't know how to turn it on

Just had the end of season cleaning done on my stove. When he put it all back together he couldn't get it to turn on. I had to explain to him that it was in thermostat mode and to make it work from the main panel, he had to move the switch back to manual mode. I would think this should be something he should already know.

Must admit that I had to think about it for a minute last night when I turned the stove back on. I had unplugged it last week and when I plugged it back in it gave zero lights. didn't help that it was past my bedtime and I didn't have my contacts in. After a couple of button pushes, slid the thermostat selector over, pushed "play" and it came to life. Of course I don't deal with stoves for a living (and the Harman starts regardless of the mode), but then again, it only took me a minute to figure it out by my lonesome.

That's why I will do my own cleaning and not pay someone to have it done. You just don't know who they will send

Looks like you have a St Croix Hastings with the slide out control panel. Besides cleanings I have replaced the tangential convection blower in the very bottom of the stove and the igniter with the long long wire!
The OEM blower does not come with any vibration foam anymore!
So this is what I did.

It is a seasonal biz so techs come and go.
I like a very few people, work on them year round.

The service gut did say my convection blower fan is starting to loosen up. It still works but he can't say for how long. I plan on ordering a new one and having it on standby for when it does fail.

Spare parts and igniter are always a good idea.

He had to call me at work and I had to talk him through how to turn it on.

Oh my. Have admit every now and then I'll get to a stove that doesn't feed at start up and I'll rip the whole thing apart again trying to figure it out and realize it's a manual light....I've done that quite a few times.
