How often do you clean out your stove completely?
I was told that my weekend cleanouts were overkill...what do you guys think?

The ones at the house about 6 weeks. Sorry but I like to see the ash piled up.

I scrape the burnpot once a day and clean the stove once a week.
Blowers and vent get checked after each ton to determine if they need cleaning too or not.
Some call it overkill but I call it preventative maintenance.

I have only had my Omega for a little over a month. I have just cleaned it twice. Each time it really didn't need it, I was just bored.

I probably could go about a month, I just like to keep it clean. Seems to me to throw more heat. It looks better clean too!

I don't miss the daily burn pot scrapping I had to do with the BigE. That got old quick!

Keep them clean and they will heat you nice!

Clean firebox and dump burn pot every evening, takes abour 5 minutes after stove cools off. Each Saturday pull baffle plates, vacume and clean heat exchangers, 15 minutes of time. After burning each ton do the leaf blower trick (30 minutes).

It may sound like over kill but to date have had zero problems and I feel it's a small time invertment that will paying off in the long run.

After every ton. Vacuum & scrape the fire box and heat exchangers (more fly-ash accumulation less heat exchanger efficiency).

Do the leaf-blower thing on the vent. Clean outside vent pipe screen.

Soft brush the fly-ash from blades of the combustion blower and vacuum out its mounting cavity.

Clean ESP probe.

Vacuum fines from slide-plate box.

Complete cleaning once a month, but do a daily vacuum ( Love-Less ) of the interior, cleaning of the burn pot, and clean the door glass.
