Stove Insert Conflict: Inner Versus Outer Hearth Question

I am about to install a wood stove insert (High Valley 1500) and have run into an issue. The inner hearth base is lower than the outer hearth base (pictures attached). It appears the height difference is around 0.75 inches.

What is the best way to increase the inner hearth pad height by 0.75 inches?

If the insert has leveling legs they will cover this to a certain extent. If you want to make it flush, put in a layer of 1/2" and 1/4" cement board.

Cement board as mentioned. If you have any floor tiles around that can work too.
