Could someone please tell me what this small plate on the side of my Dutchwest Extra Large Catalytic stove is for. There is also one located on the back of the stove at the bottom in the center.

I googled CDW & found an exploded parrs diagram & the item is called a "FAN PLATE..."
I can't help you any more that that...
Might wanna talk to someone who has a fan(blower) hooked up to their CDW...
 
Looks like a blockoff plate for a fan mounting that isn't mounted... like a fuel pump block off on a small block chevy with an electric fuel pump... don't think they even cast those in new blocks anymore. :)
