That is what I have been suspecting. All you are smelling is the hot metal smell of an over fired stove. I used to get that when I over fired my old stove and it was the smell that alerted me when I did it.
Start that stove up and don't let it get over six hundred and fifty degrees and see if you smell anything.


however, I do agree that Osburn make a nice stove that puts out nice heat. Except my stove stinks every time I light it! Other than that, I would have NO complaints. I believe it is bad paint/metal. I am soon going to perform an air analysis for organic and inorganic compounds from the smell and get to the root of the problem.
