i always have the police scanner on when i'm online. the fire department just responded to a call for a smoke filled house, because of the pellet stove. it's sunny and 65 degrees outside right now!

can anybody even fathom a guess why somebody would have their stove going when it's 65 degrees out? i haven't used mine in almost 2 months now, and it's been cold at night, down around 40.

if it matters, it was a small A frame house by the river, possibly a second home/vacation home/weekend rental. a romantic meal by the fire for cityfolk maybe?

yep sounds like a stove that hadn't run for a couple of days or weeks and maybe a birds nest was constructed in pipe.....
Maybe it was an aniversary or birthday/ romantic thing........Must have kinda ruined the mood when the FD arrived :shut:

Might have just received next season pellets, perhaps a new brand to them so they wanted to try them before their year end cleaning.

I'll take a wild guess and say that they like there temp. at maybe uh 72 deg. Mine ran until 2 days ago. I have a wife and 2 young boys.

we have a bi level and downstairs in the family room can be 7 degrees cooler. so mid to low 60's downstairs while watching a show is a little cool, so fire up the stove for an hour or so to mid 70's and ahhhhh.......

i guess i suffer if it's a chilly 60 in the house this time of year! been leaving the windows open at night, even.

right now it's 90 outside, so i guess they are all set.

Just think how happy those folks would be if they knew they are in our thoughts and hearts. Let's hope for the romantic evening explanation and that they were not interrupted when the fire department got there. :)
