Can anyone help? I am looking to see what the highest temperature the owners of wood burning stove reach during normal operarion ( Temp 20" up from the stove on the sinlge wall pipe.

Can anyone help?

THANKS

I'm measuring with a standard surface thermometer, not a probe. I had it about 15" up the stack on my old Jotul. When I reached the 650 range I would try to back it down a bit. Now I have a cat stove. Once my cat engages, my stack temp about a foot up is between 300-350.
