We had extreme heat in the past week or so with temps to 100 and humidity very high. When the temps got up the stove was giving off a smoke smell, never had this before. The bypass damper was closed but it is a metal chimney through a metal roof and in direct sun. chimney was cleaned late in the burning season and I'm not going up there in this heat. Anyone else get smokey smell in high heat?

With AC on there may be a slight negative pressure in the room. This can also happen if the majority of the flue is in the cooler house envelope. The stove bypass will not block the air descending the flue in this case.
