I want to take out my pre-fabed fireplace and put in a free standing stove. I live in a modular home, the fireplce is nice but you have to be in front of it to get warm, plus the the rest of the house is cold. So I need advice on #1 is there a converter kit that would work on the excisting fireplace. or do I need to take it out? #2 What do you guys think would be a good stove for my house? The house is 1500 sq feet with high ceilings. And for those of you that live in the Charlotte area ( I live in Midland ) where is a good place to look at some stoves? thanks

What is the manufacturer and model of the prefab? It should be on a metal plate somewhere on the front of the fireplace. Depending on the fireplace, you may be able to install an insert tested for this unit.

Is this Charlotte, NC?
