I will be buying a new Hearthstone Heritage this week. A dealer I visited recently was charging an additional $200 fee for tariffs. I checked on the Hearthstone site and there is no mention of tariff fees on their woodstoves. Is this factual or is the dealer trying to make an additional $200 off the sale of the stove. Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.

I sent an email to Hearthstone inquiring about the tariff fees. Below is from the Hearthstone website.

Cast Iron

Using selected raw and recycled material, our iron parts are produced in our foundry in Spain. Our modern casting facility guarantees durable, reliable, high-quality cast iron parts.

Any stove you are buying right now would most likely have been built before tariffs were in place.
Yes but thats not how inventory or pricing is done. When you get a price increase it applies to even things you have in stock

I heard back from Hearthstone and they are in fact charging a tariff fee on their woodstoves. With the current sale (till 8/1) there's a $500 discount on the Heritage. So that along with the 30% tax credit will more than make up for the tariff fee.

I ordered the Heritage this afternoon at a local dealer and will have it installed next month. It will be replacing a 15 year old Vermont Castings Encore that has seen better days.

It sounds a bit off. Spain has had a 20%-30% tariff for any incoming goods for years. The current US tariff for goods coming in from Spain to the us is 10% according to the international trade administration. Tho for a $200 tariff fee for stoves sold that would mean that there was $2000 of that that stove coming from Spain. There are some additional fees/costs as well. So im guessing they have some from spain but much more from somewhere else that tariffs are higher?

No real idea myslef but the number doesnt really seem to add up. Maybe someone else knows more about the international shipping/tariff/crap then i do. lol
