I have a Taylor T750 that normally runs year round providing DHW in addition to winter heat. For reasons not worth explaining here, I need to shut the stove down temporarily. It will sit unfired for 10 days at the most.
It's due for a routine cleaning anyway, so my plan was to let the fire go out, clean the firebox and flue pipes thoroughly, cap the chimney and then leave a light bulb on in the firebox to provide a little heat to dry up any latent humidity.
Is this sufficient for a short-term shutdown, or should I take additional measures?
