I just had an Enviro Q3LI direct vent gas fireplace installed. The original opening is bigger than the fireplace so my installer is having a metal surround plate made to cover the gap. I would like to have the metal surround plate, as well as the original screen cover powder coated in an antique bronze finish (dark brown with a faint gold sparkle). I don't like the matte black finish in my family room. My metal coating guy asked me for the "temperature rating" for the metal screen. I've looked at the manual and can't find this info. Basically I need to know what is the highest temperature the metal screen will get so that we purchase the right coating. Thanks in advance for any thoughts! Meredith

If the glass on your unit is Pyroceram or something comparable,
the temps of the glass will routinely reach 450 degrees F.
The surround shouldn't get that hot. as the heat is radiated &
moved by the blower out the front of the unit. The screen may
get close to that 450 temp, as it's in front of the firebox.
If you can get someone to test read both with an InfraRed thermometer,
you can confirm the temps. Otherwise, see if Stove Bright makes a color of
their High-Temp paint which is acceptable to you. I KNOW that will hold up.

Thank you! I just looked up the colors of Stove Bright and see several I like. Thanks so much! Meredith
