I just wanted to express my gratitude to you guys & gals here. It's been a long time since I started this project. I took a hiatus from the construction and have been non existent on the board. Well, due to all the feed back, suggestions and recommendations from everyone here, I FINALLY finished the installation of my Harmon XXV.

Corie, I'll have to locate the receipt to find the name of the tile for you. When I built the platform I did the construction but my wife made the tile selection. I can't take credit for that. She's the decorator. I could live in a room with painted black walls, a black light, black light posters and some lava lamps 8-/

aaaaaahhhhhhh yes, the good ole days. I just picked up my second ton of pellets today actually. I'm thinking I could be one ton away from complete. I'm just using the stove as supplemental heat.......until I see how well it works

hey russ, the XXV might just suprise you , its a great stove , looks beautiful on the pad you built, wonderful job all around , i agree totally with the above post , if Dane Harmon saw it heprobably ought to want to include it in his catalogue. i know if it was me i would.

Oh ya,
this is the one we talked about before.

I still dont see why the installer did not go the extra 5 feet and have a Vertical cap.
You dont have an eve so I dont see and extra work.

Would be about the same price because the 90 and 45 Elbo cost so much.

If the install was a true VERTICAL INSTALLATION
You could have saved around $40 bucks and keep the side of your house clean.

Your Pipe used from the T up
Keep in mind Im using a NEW PRICE sheet I just received so your pipe price might have been a little less.

Rod, I can't argue with you. You're numbers are relatively close. Since my installer charged for the entire install without the type of breakdown you gave, it's impossible for me to say how much the individual parts were.

The only things you don't see is the material used inside. There's another 'T', another 90 and another 5'. Oh, also a 3" to 4" adapter. Doing the math from your figures, that would add $151.38 plus the 'T' and adapter (you didn't quote those). So add the two 'T's' and I actually paid a bit lower than your $. I guess the 'T's' would be about $90 each? Just guessing based on your 90 prices.

Nevertheless, I think you're right about going above the roof line by a couple of feet. I didn't know any better. I'll have to pay close attention to the condition of the siding during burn season and evaluate whether or not it's worth it to make a change next summer.

As for the total cost I did leave out the Wall brackets also because you need them either way.

So if you paid Less for ALL the materials used you got a really good deal. The prices on pipe did not go up that much.

Metalbestos Pellet Pipe? People use that stuff?

If I sold you the stove for that job we would have charged $350 plus List price for materials Used. If I did not sell you the stove the most I would have charged was $450 but everybody has there Labor rate. Your job look like a 3 hour job.
If he charged you $525 and A not Itemized amount for materials I would have him come out and put the pipe up.

This will make it much easier to clean. Now You will need to put a ladder on the side of the house and clean out the 90
with the pipe straight you will just need to run a brush up from the bottom or from the roof.
