this is from 1978?.. ok some of you probably already saw it then.
 
I was a late bloomer. I didn't subscribe until 1977. And bought my Franklin that year.
 
guess if you do it right you can almost use anything.
how cool would a wood stove Volkswagon Bug be sitting in the center of a lodge or something.
lift the front hood, throw wood in....stack out the roof..... ashes out the back.
 
Sounds like the best use for a VW bug that I have ever heard of.

The thing I liked about our Franklin was that the darn thing kept you in shape--hauling wood to it every couple of hours to keep the pipes from freezing. Go through a mountain of wood in a typical winter, too. More good exercise!
