The Egg is a Kamando stove, been in use in the orient for centuries, some guy after vietnam started importing them in the 70's. The Egg wasn't the first but perhaps the first commercially viable in the USI look at that and it just screams pellet version of the Big Green Egg. I wonder if they are owned by the same company?

I'm going to run a few demo units. If anyone close to me is having a BBQ with 10 or more people, let me know and I'll deliver a grill. The host can make $100 off any units sold. Try it out for a few days. You really need to eat some food off it and use it to understand how awesome it is.
I have eaten off many Traegers...and while I like them...they are pretty shotty construction and just scream CHEAP...this is by far the best one I've used. Look up Kamado Joe, I think perhaps Sherwood gets the ceramics from them...nearly everything is the same. Green Eggs are bigger on the largest version but a little smaller on the next size down. Unlike Treagers...The Olive allows direct heat over the fire whereas the Traegers are solely convection. You cannot get a Treager as hot as this.
There is no drip tray and the bottom comes out pretty easy to clean er up. Very well designed. The only mechanical is the auger which is outside of the grill in a weather protected box.Hi Scott
When I first heard of Traegers I was very intrigued but when I found out they were just smokers I knew they were not for me! I cannot wait all day to cook a supper!
So I am very impressed that this grill is not only a smoker but can really grill and sear. That is something I can really use!
There is some mystery here since the manual does not show the inner workings! I would want to be assured that the dripping grease does not mess up the mechanical parts and it is easy to clean!
Basic Cooking Range:
Smoking 200OF - 300OF
Grilling 300OF - 500OF
Searing 500OF - 650OF
However the price is up there with the high end grills. I not saying it is too high, the stove shop in Windham NH has high end grills like that. However, they do have a nice showroom and are in a very affluent town.

How many grills you want...I'll ship out.I am saddened. I checked with our distributor and we can't get them yet. No Montana distribution for them right now, let me know (as I am sure you would anyways) what you think of them once you have the chance to cook a few times on it.
