Starting to get chilly here in the house!38 deg outside this mourn and 60 inside. For me 60 feels mighty chilly!used to setting hungry oil therm stat to around 70  Stacking wood into the garage this weekend and just may get the stove going tonight or tommorrow.Looks like norm to below norm temps around here into next week.Yippee!!! itching to fire up my new friend!!I see that some others in CT here started also.

SJ, fired mine up this am for the first time with sucessful results in my opinion. Good luck and enjoy when you fire yours up.

last night was my first full evening burn...temps dropped to 40f last night...the wife couldn't take it anymore and I had no choice but to fire up the Jotul :) I burned a total of 6 splits + starter kindling for about 8 hours burn time. ...however i did not load up the insert before going to bed around midnight. The blower fan was kicking out some good heat when I went to bed at midnight. But it was cold in the morning when I got up with no heat! My stinginess in loading up the stove will end once frost appears.

I resisted the temptation to fire it up this morning but with temps expected to be around 65F today I'm sure tonight will be the night. Looking forward to that first burn of the season! :)

I burned my first of the season on Thursday night. Man, it felt great to have that heat pumping out. I, too, only burned about 5-6 splits and didn't reload before bed. I didn't want it to get too hot in the house. Last night the wife said no to another fire, but she woke up cold this morning so that may change tonight.

Have mine going this am....living room where stove is went from 61 to 74 - it's very warm in there! I'm experimenting with fans right now see how I'm going to get the air moving around. Since I'm new to this stove....some practice is necessary....and I am having fun though!
