I was wondering how many people are using a thermostat on their stoves.
I was going to move the room sensing probe to the opposite side of the room today and that's what got me thinking about a thermostat. It seems like it would be a nice feature to control the stove from the wall and also give you
more options running it. Are there any pros or cons to having a thermostat
that you can educate me on. What brand and model would you suggest?
Ty.

It has been done many times. I do not run one on mine currently but there are people here that will tell you about it. Use the search box above and look for it there. The probe still has to be used and I believe a millivolt stat with certain things. There are many discussions here on stats. Search for Harman thermostat or using a stat with a Harman. Also check up above in the stickys for How Your Harman Works ---Things Your Harman Manual Doesn't Tell You. Might be in there too

Anyone else? I have read some old post but have not came across any recent ones.
The Skytech 3301P seems to be a popular choice.

I read that you have the Skytech 5301. How do you like operating the stove with the thermostat compared to before you had it?
I like it a lot. It has made controlling the stove much easier. It all depends on how you want to use your stove. I personally use my stove as supplemental heat and enjoy using it full time on the weekends when we're home. The thermostat allows me to program set backs, two times a day for the morning and before we get home from work. You can use this wireless thermostat about 20' away from the stove so it allows me to keep our family room nice and warm, like we like it, while keeping the rest of the house at a comfortable 68-70. I put my furnace thermostat at 65 so if the house get cold, when I shut down pellet stove, the furnace take the brunt of the work to bring the house back up to temp.
