Quick ice is not thick ice. 3 local drownings recently, including an old friend. All walking dogs, been out of town awhile, small pond or lake, quick freeze, snow on top. Please be careful!

I love to fish, but I'll wait to go out until many would be willing to drive a Jeep on.

As you said, this weather has been screwy with wicked cold followed by odd warmth. Terrible conditions for ice, it's deceiving.

Yah, I worked your neck of the woods on the RR; Halstead, New Milford, Kingsley, Hopbottom, Nicholson, Factoryville, into Clark's Summit and beyond. been to Montrose a couple of times. We all get our weather from Bingo I think. These weren't fisher folk just don'tknownonobetters.
