Looks like it has the ability to lift and support logs up to 20" diameter, while bucking. Seems really well made and the company apparently warrants just about everything they make for life. At least gives me something else to look forward to, come spring.

I have one similar to this and find it very useful. I carry a short plank to place under the foot so it doesn't bury itself in soft soil but other than that, it's great.

I've used a few different versions of a timberjack (aka logjack). Essentially it's a cant hook with a foot bolted on it. Although I use them more as a cant hook for turning logs than I do for lifting, I find the tool to be very useful.

I haven't used your particular model, but I wouldn't be surprised if you can turn big logs. I've turned rounds over 30" with my four foot long version. In general, if you can get it to bite, you can turn it.

Looks like Timberjack makes some really interesting stuff. If I hadn't already ordered a logrite cant hook, I may have ordered their Woodchuck. Enjoy the new toy!

I've got one. Like Kenster said, unless you have very dry or frozen ground, you will need something under the feet to keep them from sinking. A well made tool, but I use it more as a cant hook because I just don't need to carry something else when I'm cutting wood.

I had bought a cheap one that was great but did not last . Last week I started cutting again and bought a new one that seams much stronger and worked great.

I find they help keep the chain out of the dirt so sharp longer.

We have one similar to the one above, except it's all metal. Think we bought it either at Bailey's or Northern Tool. Anyway we both love the thing because it has been so useful both for bucking wood or lifting to attach a spike chain for short distance hauling.

I bought the Woodchuck and use it as a cant hook and log jack. I did try the log holder function while chaining it to a tree (pic below), but seemed like too much work, especially for smaller pieces. It does come with a shoe attachment for looser grounds which helped a lot too.
