I ran into this company while looking for something completely different.

Figured someone might want to try an experiment. I have no knowledge of them except the link so caveat emptor
 
With heat content running from 10-20% higher than wood pellets a person using them better know how to adjust the air flow/feed rate through his stove or boiler. The fuel looks to be quite a bit more "dense" in terms of btu/lb so leaving your burner set up the same is going to cause a pretty "rich" condition.
Other than that it looks interesting. Wonder how much they are costwise?
 
I wonder what that "binder" is.
