I know it was brought up in another thread, but for those that didn't see it, all Husqvarna chainsaw accessories are half off this week. Cleaning house to switch to Jonsered. Saws are marked down, but not half off.

I just bought chaps, a helmet, a gallon of bar oil, and 24 one gallon premix bottles for around $100. I'm going to hit another one in a little while and see if I can get some more bar oil.

Sale ends Sunday. The manager said not to be surprised if the saws get marked down more.

I'm heading there this afternoon to look at the husq. 455 to replace my old craftsman saw. Through the years the muffler got hot enough to melt the plastic housing causing bar and chain oil to spew out. The engine is still in great shape so I may replace the housing and make it a back-up saw.

I picked up a bunch of 2-stroke oil, a couple chains, and new chaps for about $90. The chains aren't the best, but for $13 a loop I can always use them for dirty wood, stump work, or whatever I don't want to use my good Stihl chains for. Same goes for the oil...not the best but certainly good enough for me.

The shelves were already pretty bare except for tune-up stuff (plugs and air filters) which I have no use for. It looks as if they have not shipped new inventory to the stores in a while, which makes perfect sense. I imagine they'll liquidate whatever is still in their distribution centers to a third party, which is pretty typical in retail. There was only one saw Husq saw in the store.

Not much left at that one, but I cleaned then out of gallons of bar oil. Six more. Hard to pass up for $6 each.

The shelves of the first TSC I stopped at were bare. The second TSC still had a fair amount of stuff left. As others have noted the accessories were half off and I got $80 off the list price on the 455.

Nice. The first positive experience I've had there in a while.

I just put the helmet together a little while ago. I think I'm really gonna like it.

Nice score Regency139.

maple1, Lots of TSC's in Canada. I know of 4 within an hour and a bit of my house.

Sweet!
Nice upgrade.
Bar size?

It's a 20" bar. I'm looking forward to trying it out as soon as I get some time.

I guess I'm in the wrong part of Canada.

Oh well - the air is good & I can pee off my deck if I want. !!!

Good deal . . . thanks for sharing the info on the sale. Didn't really need anything, but at those prices I picked up some bar oil and two-cycle oil . . . Bangor TSC was just about cleaned out. Only had one display saw still available.

I think TSC will regret switching to Jonsered. Not that there is anything wrong with the saws. There is no name recognition for the average consumer vs the Husqvarna name.

Husqvarna officially gone from the TSC website as of this morning.

I called all of them within 40 miles ( 5 I think ) they all said what sale ? To which I responded the husqvarna sale ! O well that's at our managers discretion and we are not doing it at this store. Then I proceeded to stop at one nearby just to see and was treated like an idiot by a 18 year old. Then I talked to the manager who was really nice and said no sale in our area and claimed to not know it was going on either. :( o well maybe next time.

Nothing is marked. It comes up on the register as 50 off. Not sure if it continues this week though.

The one I stopped at had a laminated sign on the shelf stating 50% of Husky accessories.

Same here . . . at least at the store in Bangor . . . and the guy at the register was telling me and others that the reason was due to the Jonsered line up coming.

i stopped today and they where in the process of setting up all the jonsered stuff... not one husky accessory left on the shelf

I thought Jonsered and Husqvarna were products off the same line, just different color. Am I missing something?

That's pretty much correct, I think the deal is that TSC will be carrying Jonsered exclusively rather than competing with Lowes for the mass retail sales.

!!! How can you say that?

Haven't you noticed the Jonsered top handle is almost perpendicular to the blade instead of the Husqvarna angle? Can't you see the Jonsered starter covers have more stylish air vents? ;lol

i don't know the differences in the saws themselves but the employees setting up the saws when i was there where bitching pulling the jonsereds out of the cardboard boxes that they dont come with a case or chain guard, i dont know if that was a display mode only thing but the ones they where setting up where in a chainsaw shaped cardboard box.. small detail of course, so case is extra??
