Yes I have it all just need to look at a new stove maybe not sure yet. Only drawback is 8" chimney.shawneyboy said:I am assuming you have the stove and chimney pipe, or a liner for an existing chimney already? If not you will be surprised to find you may very well spend more on that than a stove itself.

Might be worth a phone call at least.

We do have to have a EPA stove. I am just not able to do the work for a non-EPA stove.BeGreen said:Century has been around for a while. They are inexpensive, but functional stoves that get the job done. I would prefer to see you with an EPA stove that would burn much cleaner and will save you a lot of wood year after year. But the one advertised would do it for this winter if it hasn't been abused. Or you could just continue to burn in the current stove, maybe adding a pipe damper to reduce stack losses. If that allows you to save up enough money to buy a proper stove in late January/February when the big box stores start clearing out inventory, then that may be a reasonable approach.
BeGreen said:What I meant is that as the stove is being used now, it is essentially a non-EPA stove. Normally the ashpan and stove glass is gasketed. If there is leakage there the gasketing should be replaced.

Hi WoodpileOCD I don't want to sound like a broken record. I just don't have the money to buy and fix up a wood stove. Is the Century Heating a good wood stove? I have seen many around.
No I do not have $600 for a stove. Just wanted to get a ball park price to look for a stove so I can start saving the money up for it. As for the Century Heating I can get it right now at Northern tools for $475 New or from CL $400 used. As for what make me think this stove need to be fixed, My luck would be it needs to be fixed up.WoodpileOCD said:AppalachianStan said:WoodpileOCD said:Stan, here is one listed on the Winston Salem CL for $400 asking price.

Just trying to give you some leads man. What makes you think this stove needs to be 'fixed up" after 2 years as the ad states. You said in your 'burn w/o cat' thread that it would take you 4 months to save up $400 for the cats but now you have $600 for a new stove? ?? Don't know what else might be wrong with the stove you have but seems to me like putting cats in that one would be your best option. I think that was expressed a couple times in that thread.
At this point, I'm not really sure what you're looking for from us.
