I don't see how this guy sells anything:

(broken link removed)

I believe the msrp for the 602 was $699 last year, and our local dealer was selling it for $799...
1,500 bucks?????

The company is in NSW (New South Wales) which is in Australia, so that's Australian Dollars. Still comes out to a little over US$1200 though.

Okay that explains it. Sorry for being such a dummy . Mod, feel free to lock this or whatever.

Don't feel that way.....the Buck Stove dealer here in Fairborn Ohio sell it for $899 US........ so even $1200 is way, way, too high for here...

yea and no one sells them for $1200 in the states. Australlia is a bit out of the way from norway, so i would imagine every thing costs more down there. $799 is US Retail, most dealers sell them for $699. $899 is way high, they are probably a small dealer, buying in the worst coloum, and they are charging freight on top of the stove.

MSG,

Yes...as I suspected and almost wrote....things "down under" cost more due to a limited market, 1/14 our population, etc.... And, I stand corrected....I think it was $850 my guy wanted for this same stove, not $900 and you're correct, he is a small dealer but he's the same guy I bought my Jotul C450 from and I got what I consider a fair price on it: $2154 + tax (matte black, surround and blower)

i thought you bought you Jotul online...
But back to that dealer in OH, i guess my next suspecion would be that he stocks the kennebec, and not the 602. Otherwise it doesnt make sense to be competive on one product, and not the other...

MSG,

I live about 10 miles from the Buck Stove dealer which is located in Fairborn, OH and he's the guy I bought the Jotul from.... $2154 + tax.... so I bought locally, not on-line. He's also the one with the small Jotul in the window...I'll have to ask him the price (of the small Jotul) to make certain.
