#1. Anyone had an EXTREMELY hard time getting the shoe gasket in far enough to get the tab on the coal grill to go by & lock in? I had a heck of a time & it's all new stuff.
#2. Are there supposed to be two bolts that go down through the top of the shoe refractory? I have two holes up top & there are holes in the floor of the stove but I got no bolts long enough to go all the way down through to thread into anything. If yes then how long are those bolts??

Is this a Defiant Encore?

1. Yes, it is difficult to get it in.

2. Those holes are for air, not bolts. Leave em open.

Thanks for replies. Yeah it was a pain in the rectum to get that pushed in far enough to get the tab on the ash grill by. I thought I was going to break something.

Can you add the stove make/model to your signature.
