I have an Encore c. 2011 and want to test it for smoke tightness. I tried a dollar bill in a few areas and was able to pull it through (with resistance) and in one place it wouldn't move at all. I didn't do the entire stove yet, but am wondering what the best way to test this is and how tight is tight enough with a dollar bill. The smoke bomb concerns me, because I don't want to fill my house with smoke potentially (and where can I buy the HVAC ones - local stores or mail order only?). Also, if I use incense or a smoke bomb, does it need to be a cold day so there is a draft?

Any advice on how to best test this will be appreciated.

Dollar bill test only works on doors. Your stove has many panels were there are potential leaks so incence is really best. And you need the stove burning to test

How old is the stove? How old are the gaskets? Replacing the gaskets is a maintenance thing. Burning works best past the dollar bill test watching flame control with air intake. Have you had problems?
