We just bought this same wood burning stove and was wondering what the little hole on the bottom right area is. Also there are no fire bricks and the little chain in the back looks like it needs to be replaced. Where can I order parts for this? It is 1979 but safety tested in 1980. Can I install this or did I just make a bad purchase? It is a super cute stove, with some issues but I think they are fixable.
Thank you! [Hearth.com] Vermont Castings Resolute

It's a great little stove, but it looks newer than the Resolute I, with the double doors I think it is a Resolute III. It looks to be in very nice condition on the outside. Is this a model 0058? If so, it is a Resolute coal stove. That would explain the little hole on the left side.

Can you post a larger picture of the rear UL plate and also one of the thermostatic chain that shows your concern? Also, a shot of the insides with the doors open would help.

resolute 2 or 3. 1979 is not the date. look for casting dates on various parts. need a couple of griddle quadrants, thermo flap, pin and chain. make sue it has the wood burning inner pieces since it may have been a coal stove.

It's a Res III. Double doors give it away. I's and II's had the drop door like an oven. Woodman's Parts Plus has what you need for parts, contact Graham the Stoveman for service.
