Fine folks, I thought this was a very interesting video and hopefully isn't a repost but the bit that I thought was relevant regardless of whether anyone was running a boiler or not was right at about 2:40 where they were showing the amount of water retained within the wood, that was truly fascinating to me. Anyway hopefully not a repost and hopefully something everyone else enjoys.

That's exactly what I was thinking and that was a relatively small split. When they explained that over the season there would be 3,500 liters of water forced out of the wood that was simply staggering to me! Seriously, 3,500 liters over just one heating season that is truly staggering! Perhaps more than anything this video truly made me realize how important seasoning is. I have always seasoned all my firewood as much as possible but I did this on trust and not actually on realizing the real significance. Again, hopefully not a repost and hopefully something everyone else enjoys.
