Viewing the Fireview

It's 5:16 am and I just threw a small split and some chunks on the coals from the fire I started at about 6 pm. It's 42 outside and a little chilly upstairs. I figured I's warm up the place a bit before the rest of the family wakes up. Stove is going. All is well again.

That's nice keeping the family comfortable. It is chilly here in Pa. As well. No fires yet though.

Thats good Flatbed, I got up this morning to a good coal bed but no time to re-stoke the fire, can tell I will have to get up much earlier if I want wood heat while im not home

Had a medium size "uglies" fire I started around 7pm last night. Woke up to a 70 degree house with heavy frost on the ground. I am so happy with the new stove, how easy it is to opperate and the serious heat it throws with just a couple splits. I can only imagine what this thing will do when it gets cold out and I actually fill it with a load of wood.

I also am 3yrs ahead on wood and burning 2-3yr CSS ash which is an obvious difference maker for sure. Using super cedars to start the fire is also a big plus. Pretty much everything about this stove I learned here - thanks everyone.

Wife started a fire late yesterday while I was out hunting. That warm house felt great Before going to bed early last night I put in 3 splits. Just about 1/2 hour ago I started another fire. And yes, it was below freezing this morning but the house was really warm so did not add wood when we got up.

I almost always get up with the alarm, so I walk out and twist the thermostat and maybe turn the blowers on or up. By the time the rest of the family is up and showered, they have a hot stove to stand in front of and warm their backsides. I wonder how they do it when I'm not home?
