I recently bought new guts for my early 2000s Vista Classic; new side rails and baffle. As you can see in the pics, the back of the baffle is sitting above the side rails by almost 1/4". It seems that the side rails just sit a bit lower than the back baffle support, though I'm definitely down over the secondary air tube. None of the positional adjustments I make really close the gap.
Is the gap an issue? Any remedies to it?
Thanks.

Did you also get the baffle insulation kit? The side gap is filled with a thick, ceramic wool blanket on each side.

The baffle looks too short for some reason. It should be about the same depth as the side rail. What is this gray area?

The gray is #13 in the parts diagram, the tabs that protect the baffle corners. Just a funny trick of the light making it look odd.
Yep, the side insulation is there. I'm assuming I want that pulled all the way down into the hollow behind the side rail?

Yes, all the way down and for the full length of the baffle to the back of the firebox.
