Hello All,
I put my pellet stove in a place in my living room where it would blow down my hallway. well my hallway is pretty warm but my back bedrooms stay cool. Is there a quiet fan I could punch through my wall above my doors that will move a little hot air from hallway into the bedroom that is quiet? Thanks Jay

I plugged it in to hear how much air it can flow, but have not installed it. It can move
some SERIOUS air, so I bought the wall switch controller that goes with it. For that
reason it seems people like this one:

I'm installing mine floor level for returning cold air, so I didn't want my kid playing with
the switch and turning it on/off high/low etc. So I also wanted the smaller vent.

I have the sun courts installed above my doors as well. Can't say how good they work as this is actually my first year with them.

Just an update... greatest idea ever! The house is way more balanced and my wife even noticed.



It is low so it pushes the cold air back to the stove to get heated up.. without blowing past us on the couch ;-)

For quietness a forward curved wheel (squirrel cage) would be the one to go with, fan blades tend to be noisier. Check the link. I've heard these can be purchased at other sites cheaper than the MFR. sells them.

It would be neat if somehow I could divert the hot air from the stove itself to the bedrooms through the basement, with an option to either output the heat locally or through the ducting. But stoves aren't made that way.

and the positive pressure it introduces probably does a great job of inducing a convection loop that pushes the warm air back out to other areas of the house.

If you get a pellet furnace you can do that.

Exactly. The heat got out before but the doorway would have cold on bottom warm on top drafts. Now it just feels like warm flowing.

Some of the european stoves can run a duct about 25' away, like some of the Piazzetta models and I know one of the Wittus stoves can do it as well.
