And now the benefits of all those cold days and deep snow in New England become clear - no 'gators.

My buddy in Florida - as he stood waist deep in coffee-colored water fixing the outboard - assured me that 'gators don't bother humans. He said this as a large 'gator slid into the water on the other side of the channel.

I took Chef's advice from Apocalypse Now: "Never get out of the boat!".

Do they call in conservation officers to remove to a different location? I can't imagine the club's owners want this guest:eek:

Years ago my sister and her family found a great place to swim in the Keys ... the feature in the local weekend paper ... shark infested waters !!! Then there's the jelly fish ...

One big lizard!

Lived in south FL for several years on two different freshwater bodies of water. Seen my fair share, they can eat you, you learn to be aware of them.

My rule of thumb in FL is, If it's alive, plant or animal, chances are it's poisonous and or can kill you.

The everglades. Gators, boars, cougar, bears, giant snakes, snapping turtles, a plethora of poisonous snakes, and a multitude of sharp and or poisonous plants. Wash that down with the drenching rains, tornados, hurricanes, and endless lightening. Of course it's a major drug trafficking area to boot. It really is a crazy place.

I do miss the bass fishing.
