I have had my Orlen 40 for 7 years, 2 years ago I sprung a leak in the water jacket on the seam at the "flapper" opening, for lack of a better word. I contacted my so called salesman, who also happens to be a welder by trade. He welded the seam, covered it himself, and stated that it was a manufacture defect. I was not charged, the weld held and I was satisfied, at the time, since he was also the dealer. Well, now my issue, the weld has failed. I have a solid water stream from the seam, and the "distributor" is no longer a distributor, and I am stuck with a leaking boiler with winter coming. Any suggestions? Anyone know who distributes these boilers in Sullivan County, NY? I am at a loss, as I ready to start burning again for the season, but can't.

If the leak is accessible I would just look for a good welder with a portable rig that can get there now.

That is what i will be doing, I would like to know also, if there are any other Orlen dealers in the area that can service my boiler? Any way that I can find out if the repair will be covered or reimbursed. Is there a welder that is manufacturer approved?
Since my dealer is no longer affiliated,or even selling units, is there anyone in my area that I can contact for support, parts, or service of the boiler in general. I feel as though I have been totally abandoned, but love using the wood boiler for hot water and heating of my house. Any help, suggestions are appreciated.

Contact the manufacturer. Has your warranty expired? You wanna talk about abandoned... you're lucky you didn't buy a Greenwood.
I'm sure new horizon would be happy to sell you parts. After 7 years I doubt there is much warranty left if you read the fine print. Probably none since the dealer you bought from is out of business.
Probably just have to eat the repair cost. Wouldn't think it would be over a couple of hundred to have someone come weld it.

Hi Crash, if I was a bit closer I would come over and weld it up for you for a pizza and some good craft beer. I am getting pretty good at welding up wood furnaces, as my CB 2400 seems to spring a leak every year and the warranty, well, is a joke. My repairs are fully warrantied and come with the satisfaction that it was done properly and without too much drama. Good luck with the repair...

My CB is 11 years old and has a pinhole leak in the side of the fire box. I called CB and of course the 25 year warranty fine print doesn't cover it. I have someone coming over today to weld it. Do you have any suggestions as to the best way to weld it? I have a small mig welder but really have not learned how to use it.

Curious as to their exact reason for bailing on the warranty? Did they blame operator error? Or?

go back and check my old post on CB2400 probs. As far as welding, good clean surface, good clean ground spot. I cut the affected area out and pieced in some patches: that is the cleanest/best way, and the most difficult. Make sure you have enough power, you need penetration, not a pile of steel. Make absolute sure to disconnect any and all electronics, as the grounding will most assuredly fry them. Test, don't trust the repair. And keep your fingers crossed.... Good luck

They said the 25yr warranty is for welded seams only. There is a 10 year, prorated corrosion warranty. Of course the boiler is 10.5 years old.

There is a cute little "catch all" clause in there that says (I am paraphrasing) any warranty coverage is at the discretion of the manufacturer... If they don't want to warranty it, they won't. My EClassic 2400 was 2 years old, no warranty coverage.... Again, I like the furnace, I do not like the customer support...
