i just put in a new exterior door in a new opening. eventually i will re-side this small portion of the house when it's not raining one weekend.

however, i'm a bit at a loss for figuring out how to properly waterproof the part where the door jamb and trimmer stud are up against the concrete foundation. was thinking of running some metal flashing from the sill level up until it tucks under the future siding. plus, covering the metal with vycor window flashing. then, brickmold and caulk.

thoughts?

Metal flashing or ice and water shield.
