Feeling the Heat

Holy crap, guess we got the perfect down pour last night and rain came down the chimney, I have a through the wall class A setup and this is the first time since I installed it last summer that this has happened....And no it didn't come through on the outside of the pipe it actually managed to come in the vertical and then through the horizontal and into the stove......Bumming that my stove got wet inside!

Build a small fire to dry it out asap.
How about a jar candle? It is really to Hot and humid right now for a fire....

A small fire won't heat up the stove (or the room) very much, but will do a lot to drive out some moisture.

Start a fire in it! The temporary discomfort heat wise is well worth the piece of mind that there isn't water sitting in some crevice of the stove causing it to rust for the next month or two. Just my opinion......

O.K went with your suggestions.....Fire going now, air conditioner cranking for all its worth along with fans....Neighbors think I'm insane I'm sure.....Lol

They probably do but who cares your stove is safe.....;)

There are certain advantages to having the neighbors think you're a little off your keel. ;hm

Water and wood ash make lye. Highly corrosive. You are doing the proper thing (getting it dry).
