Hello!

I am removing my gas decoration and installing the pellet stove. I choose HP22.

Anyway, I am trying to remove the gas box, and it only holds by the chimney pipe. This is where I stuck. I need help to understand what to do and what to keep. Posting the pictures. Help me understand what this double wall pipe is. Adapter? Safe to remove? How? What would you do?

Thank you!

Do you know if there is an adapter for pellet stove in my case?
The outter pipe is 10", the inner is around 8". My pellet stove needs 3".

When I unscrew the chimney, can I raise it to pull the gas box out? Will it fall if I remove the box?

I don't believe you can use any vent pipe for a pellet stove that is not in the manual/instructions.
The pipe that is there is way too big I believe. From the 22i Manual
Pellet Vent Pipe Must be an approved 3" or 4" diameter Type "L" or "PL" vent. Use 4" diameter vent if flue height is over 12 ft. or if installation is over 5,000ft above sea level. (See Equivalent Vent Length chart on Pg. 13)
Connect the pellet vent with a Clean-Out-Tee to the back of the insert. Run a liner down the chimney and connect to the Tee. Position the insert in it's final location. Pull the excess length of the liner out through the top of the chimney. Trim the excess liner, install the cap the chimney

Ok. I was afraid I would need to do something like that. :(

Another way would be cap the existing pipe and cut the whole in the wall for a new one. Behind the wall is the nature.
I need to figure out what way I want to go.
Thank you!

Keep in mind the unit will need to be connected, then inserted in the opening. Install a pipe for fresh air too.
If you are doing this all yourself, make sure it's done exactly to the manual and nameplate on the unit.

Yes, the fresh intake is an easy job...

What do you mean by "... connected, then inserted in the opening..."?
I have done wood stove installation once, 15 years ago. Was planning to do it myself, now I am thinking to get some Amish's help to insert the liner.

The insert is meant to be removed to service the stove and the vent.
I found a recent post that will help you out a bit.
