Saw that for you all. 6 to 10? Then some more frigid days. Maybe a dusting here today then "cold for us" tonight, in the teens. No snowstorms in the foreseeable future, temps up and down but colder then average. F45 will be mostly loping along with just small to medium loads as I don't need the btu's that 600 or 700 stt provide. 450 to 500 stt is usually enough.
Yeah AccuWeather is calling for 6-10 but the locals are calling for less. You never now around here.

Threw 5 splits in at 345 of oak and cherry, we’ll see if it gets me to tonight. Currently 72-73 inside, 24 out with a real feel of 8

11 splits of Red oak and hard maple tonight, it’s already down to 20 I believe the low is supposed to be around 12.

Around 5 pm I put a split of spruce in the oak and locust coals from the partial load earlier today.
And now I'm doing that again to get me to a later full reload.

Left it cooking a bit too long, saw a STT of 750 🤣. Cooled it off and stuffed it with 3 big mystery logs, and two small chunks of maple. CAT was struggling to hit 650, but those chunks looked dryyyyy. There’s a ton of coals covering the secondary air inlets too. I guess I’ll have to clean some ashes out in the next few days.

24 outside, foot down to 17. Upstairs 70.
Reload on slightly too few coals. Three splits of black locust, and the rest red oak plus one split 3" straight branch of maple to fill a hole in the top right.

Those two middle slabs are 2" thick.

6 / 61 at 5:30am this morning. Now 5 / 68 Pine and mystery chunks topped with oak.

Reloaded at 730 this morning. House was chilly, wife had bumped the heat in our room again around 4-430 this morning, dropped to 64. Stayed 68 in the main rooms. Oak, a little ash, and cherry this morning. Hot one, peaked out at 775STT blower on max and held 750 for a while. Probably gonna burn this one hot through the whole burn to play catch up and load up again after lunch. Welcomed the warmth this morning, need the heat for the bedrooms any way. 12 outside when I loaded the stove, now up to 66 in our room (coldest room in the house) and 71 in kitchen/living rooms.

13 hrs in, quite some coals left, but adding some spruce on top now.
It was cold 🥶 this morning!
26 now. Upstairs 69. Don't want it to drop lower (when the stove is on, that is... For mini split times 69 is warm. Helps with stove appreciation here at home 😜)

Was able to get out to the shop before work again, mystery wood didn’t burn as good last night. STT was 170, Shop was 47, outside air was about 13 when I left. I quickly cleaned the ash tray, and tossed in 4 mystery logs. CAT was about 1400 when I left and still ramping, air was a crack past closed. We’ll see how it looks in a few hrs.

Coals…lots of coals. Burning as much as I can down so I can do a proper reload.
Same. Burning 3 splits of barkless deadfall red maple to digest some coals to ashes.

Low here was 0* all night and most of the morning. You're not far from me here on earth. I wouldn't blame it on your mystery log.

I finished up the stick/limbwood pile I had in the lair last evening. Switched to sugar maple, cherry, and oaks last night. Burned more of it till mid morning before switching to red maple. Watching the dragon's diet to maintain heat throughout this drafty ole farmhouse. Major temperature fluctuations between rooms when temps get bitter cold.

I loose lots of sleep too. Reloads are every 4-5hrs or face the cold fluctuations in the house. At least I'm used to it.

That would drive me nuts! Even in my cabin I get 7-8hrs out of my Jotul 602 before the temp swing gets to me.. really the wife, I’d just grab another blanket.😂
