what stove to get?

I would agree with BG that it is NOT a dust magnet, though i use the OEM blower which may keep it a little cleaner than without the blower...

The cast iron doesn't get as hot on the Alderlea as it would on a regular stove because it's separated from the stove body with a small airspace. This allows the paint to stay fresher and new looking. I just damp-wiped our stove with a towel after a cleanout and flue cleaning. Looks almost new now. If this was a regular cast stove I would be repainting it by next year.
