Have a landscaping client that had this 36" dbh white oak down on his property. Asked if I wanted it when I told him I burn wood. Umm .........YEAH! Been down for over two years but only had an inch or two of punk. Couldn't believe how red it was but bark, smell and length of rays confirm its white. Should be closing in on two cords. Looking forward to it in a couple years. Also threw a couple pics of my stacks and pallet shed up. Not the prettiest, but they get the job done. Somewhere around 10 cords on the property in all, 3 burnable.sent

Nice! Primo wood. I'm glad your patient with letting it season even though it's been down a few years. You'll appreciate it much more.

Thx. I love the smell. If I could find insence that smelled like fresh split white oak I'd burn it all the time. Yeah you gotta give oak its time to dry. Funny, the guy I got it from said it should be ready to burn. I new better. It still has water squeezing out of the rounds as I split. Thankful to have some premo btus when its cold. I need about one cord of the hot stuff per year for over nights. Otherwise Cherry and ash do fine.
