Whitfield advantage 2t ash pan door issue

hi refurbishing a Whitfield I picked up for 50 bucks last week everything is going smooth and then I ran into the ash pan it looks like there was a little piece of metal or something that the ash door pushes into but it’s long gone anyone have a quick fix to this or run into this problem before I know snowy is a whit expert along with don from east coast hearth any help is appreciated

The owners manual for the IIT only shows the parts below
You may have to buy the whole door assembly to get the OEM latch
The other alternative is to get a small latch from a hardware store but it must be fire proof. Good luck

I do not have one at the moment but it looks just like a small door latch.
