Has anyone had to drill new holes in the cast iron for the window wash brackets on this stove? Mine are all stripped. What drill bit did you use and what method? Also, where can I get replacement screws that can withstand the high temp? Thanks!

Instead of drilling new holes I would try to see if I could tap the current holes to a larger size, same thread though. Make sure replacement screws exist first.

Hello
Yes I have done it. Here are some pics and info. Hope this helps? :)

Thanks for your reply. This may be a stupid question but does the glass gasket wrap around the edges of the glass on a Whitfield Advantage II-TC with 3 separate pieces of glass or does it just sit on the outside edges of the glass? In all the videos I am looking at it looks like it does not wrap around but mine was wrapped around when I removed it ... Also, does the bottom of the center glass get a gasket or something different. In the description of replacement glass with gasket on Stove Parts for less it states:
"Comes pre-installed with gasket on three sides and one strip on the opposite side" and the photo looks like there is something different on one side . . .

Hello Tia
Yes the bracket does wrap around like in my pics and there should be no gasket at the bottom of all 2 panes of glass so the clean room air can be drawn in to wash the glass to keep it clean a little bit longer. :-)

Thanks, but I was under the impression that the glass wasn’t supposed to touch the cast-iron so if you don’t put a gasket along the bottom, what do you put?
Th glass cannot touch the bottom because that is where the air comes in from the room to wash the inside of the fire 🔥 door glass.
