I have a WP2 that I bought last year. I ran it last season and the heat it put out was incredible. I had some issues (replaced blower motor and auger motor) but other than that it was great... That is until This year!
I had the chimney cleaned and while it was out, I cleaned the entire unit. I reinstalled it and started it up as usual and I got a flame but the heat output was terrible. Then after about 25 minutes the flame would go out.
I have a huge flame when I start it. But it slowly shrinks and then all you see is red embers in the burn pot as if it is burning the pellets faster than they can feed. (even at the highest feed rate).
I looked all over the net for possible ideas. Tried everything and still cant get it to stay lit to save my life.
One thing I noticed was the exhaust blower was not spinning. So I removed it, cleaned it and plugged it back in before I reinstalled it. When I press the start button on the control panel the blower starts up at full speed and sounds good, but after a few seconds it slows down and finally will not spin at all. I tested the motor by plugging power into it directly and it works fine - full power, so I dont think I need to replace it.
I had a spare control board from another stove I got for parts and I plugged it in. This time it did the same thing but rather than stop completely it kept running at a few hundred RPM. IS this motor supposed to vary? What could make it do this? Stop completely I mean?
Then the exhaust blower is running the flame stays lit.
Any other suggestions on what I could check?
I tried several pellet types - no Joy
I cleaned everything - no joy
Before I result in kicking it, I thought I could come here and see if anyone can shed any light on my haunted stove
Thank you
