Why is there creosote in my stove?

Are they referring to the black stuff running down the pipe onto the towel? If so, is it raining or a high rain fall area? Seems to me that style outlet is not the best choice for that location on the house, and though I am certainly no expert, it looks to be oriented wrong for that location. Could it be that water is more the cause than routing?
Too many twists bends and turns too long a run? There is a formula to use for pellet stove venting as too how many elbows etc is acceptable.
That's a "ready, fire, aim....." install for sure ! The homeowner should at least get credit for the 4" pipe and the OAK ! 
The termination vent, which as it is set up functions more like a muscle car carburetor scoop, no doubt contributes further to a negative draft when the wind blows from that direction of the house. With no outside T / clean out, I can't imagine having to sweep all that exterior venting from the inside clean out.
Easy to be critical though when I'm not that homeowner just 'trying to make something work', unfortunately without having the big picture that you need to have a stove manufacturer compliant venting plan in mind for the outside of the house, before you can decide where the stove can go on the inside of the house.
